TİKA Partners with Kaliiti to Support Women with Disabilities
At Kaliiti Disabled Women’s Network, we believe that dignity, comfort, and inclusion are not luxuries — they are rights. And recently, we witnessed a beautiful reminder of what happens when compassion meets action.
This donation marks a significant milestone in our journey. It strengthens our resolve to continue advocating for and empowering women with disabilities in Uganda.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to TİKA and the Turkish people for walking this path with us. Together, we are proving that real change happens when partnerships are built on empathy, equity, and trust.
Through a heartfelt collaboration with the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA), our organization was honored to receive a substantial donation of mattresses, wheelchairs, and other essential items for women with disabilities in our network. The event was a celebration of resilience, inclusion, and global solidarity.
More Than Just Supplies — A Message of Solidarity
The donation handover event took place at our community center, bringing together members of Kaliiti, TİKA officials, and representatives from the Turkish Embassy. Behind the gathering was a clear message:
TİKA has extended crucial assistance towards improving the well-being of disadvantaged individuals by supporting vulnerable communities and promoting sustainable development.”
As rows of colorful mattresses lined the venue and wheelchairs were carefully distributed, it was clear that this support went beyond physical items. It was a powerful acknowledgment of the value and potential of every woman living with a disability.
