Empowering Through Partnership
Kaliiti Disabled Women’s Network and TİKA Bring Hope to Vulnerable Communities
Kampala, Uganda – In a vibrant and heartfelt gathering marked by unity, gratitude, and resilience, the Kaliiti Disabled Women’s Network, in collaboration with the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA), hosted a remarkable community outreach event that touched the lives of hundreds of disadvantaged individuals in Uganda.
The event was led by the dedicated and passionate Team Leader of Kaliiti Disabled Women’s Network, a visually impaired woman whose strength and eloquence moved many. Her presence and leadership served as a powerful symbol of the very empowerment the event aimed to foster.
A Day of Dignity and Distribution
Held in Kampala, the outreach featured the distribution of essential items including:
Dozens of wheelchairs for individuals with mobility impairments
Food parcels and hygiene kits for families in vulnerable situations
Assistive materials for persons with disabilities
Tailored support packages donated in the names of Turkish sponsors
Many recipients arrived early, filling the grounds with color, warmth, and stories of perseverance. For many, this was their first time receiving direct support of this nature, and the impact was visibly transformative.
A Partnership from the Heart of Turkey
The collaboration with TİKA (Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency) made this outreach possible. In their ongoing commitment to supporting inclusive development in Africa, TİKA has extended vital assistance across various communities. Their support of Kaliiti’s initiative reflects their dedication to uplifting people with disabilities and those in need — not just through words, but through action.
Leadership That Inspires
Central to this success was the tireless work of the Kaliiti Disabled Women’s Network. The team, under the guidance of their courageous leader, ensured that every package reached the right hands, every wheelchair was properly fitted, and that every guest — regardless of physical ability — was treated with dignity.
In her keynote address, the Team Leader of Kaliiti emphasized the importance of inclusion, empowerment, and visibility for women and persons with disabilities.
“We are not asking for sympathy; we are demanding equity,” she said passionately.
“Today is not just about giving — it’s about recognition, restoration, and rebuilding lives.”
Looking Ahead
This initiative marked more than a distribution event — it ignited a movement of compassion and collaboration. Plans are already underway to scale up similar programs in other regions, expand mobility support, and introduce vocational training for beneficiaries.
Thank you, TİKA, for believing in our mission. Thank you for restoring dignity, one mattress at a time.
