Food Aid and Community Support
AFT Partnership
In a separate program, the Uganda International Education and Solidarity Foundation (AFT) also partnered with Kaliiti to distribute food packages to vulnerable community members. The images show organized distributions on the green lawns of community spaces, with beneficiaries receiving clearly branded food parcels. The initiative, labelled the “Ömer Ürüm Gıda Paketi,” provided nutritional relief to many families struggling with food insecurity.
Community members, including women, children, and persons with disabilities, gathered in large numbers to receive this much-needed support. Volunteers and Kaliiti team members ensured fair and transparent distribution, underlining the spirit of solidarity that defines these interventions.
Impact and Future Outlook
Through these collaborative initiatives, Kaliiti Disabled Women’s Network has reinforced its role as a beacon of hope and empowerment for disadvantaged populations. The partnerships with TİKA and AFT are a testament to how international solidarity, combined with grassroots leadership, can make a real difference in people’s lives.
Kaliiti’s team leader and her colleagues continue to advocate for more inclusive programs that uplift the dignity of persons with disabilities, and look forward to growing partnerships that deliver skills development, livelihood opportunities, and further social protection initiatives.
